We have open call interviews every Monday and Wednesday between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. Please bring at least three photos with you: one head shot that clearly shows your entire face, another head shot smiling, and one full-length shot (for adults) preferably in a swimsuit so that we can see your body type. We prefer color photographs. You should wear little to no make-up in your photos with your hair pulled off your face, we want to see you, not the make-up! You will need to take your shoes off to be measured, so make sure to bring shoes that are easy to take off and wear socks. Be sure to show up on time as we close the doors promptly at 4:00 p.m.
We have individual interviews to discuss your look, review your photos, take measurements, and get to know you. We will then make a decision on the spot. If you don't fit what we're looking for right now, we will suggest alternate avenues for you. If you are a woman 5'9" to 5'11" and are interested in doing runway, bring a pair of heels with a back or ankle strap and be ready to walk. There is no open call for petites, plus or children. Online Submissions:
You are welcome to send us digital photos of yourself if you cannot make it to Open Call. Please be sure the photos are clear. We prefer no makeup. These do not need to be professional photos, but they need to clearly show your face and body. It is important to include your height, age and sizes in your message. Please make sure the file size of your photos does not exceed 2MB. Online Submissions are preferred, but if you are unable to send your pictures via the Online Submission Form, you can mail them to us using the address below. Please do not call us regarding the status of your submission. We will contact you only if we are interested in setting up an interview.
Mail-in Submissions:
For those unable to use the online submission application, we are happy to have you submit your pictures by mail. In addition to the photos (following the guidelines above), we need your date of birth, height (barefoot), and clothing size. Please include all contact information, including phone number and email address. Do not submit portfolios. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to return your photos. If you are concerned about sending original photos you may submit laser copies of your photos instead. If we feel that your look is right for us we will contact you. Please mail your photos to the address below.
Costs:
SMG does not charge you a fee for representation. We make our money by charging a commission for all work we secure for you. Beware of agencies that charge any sort of up-front fees for representation.
Children:
We are currently accepting children through mail-in and online submission only. Please do not bring your child to Open Call. We would like to see photos that showcase your child's personality. Please include at least one head shot and one full-length shot.
Photographers and Hair/Make-up artists:
We also look for fresh, new fashion photographers and hair/make-up artists. If you are a photographer or hair/make-up artist interested in working with an agency you may come into any open call interview to meet with an agent. Please make sure to bring in your portfolio! We will discuss your experience and portfolio, and let you know if we are interested in having you work with SMG.
